  • How does Nazamér salt water spray work?

    Nazamér contains a natural sea salt solution and an emollient. The sea water moistens and cleans the mucous membrane, which stimulates the function of the small flagelli in the nose. Unlike an ordinary saline solution, sea salt also contains mineral salts and trace elements that are believed to create a protective and anti-inflammatory effect in the mucous membrane.

    The emollient dexpantenol (vitamin B5) helps retain the moisture, while promoting the normalisation of the mucous membrane and counteracting the inflammatory symptoms. Surveys have shown that dexpantenol is effective as an emollient on dry mucous membranes. Nazamér aloe vera also contains aloe vera, which is a natural plant extract known for its emollient properties.

  • Can Nazaren be used on infants?

    Nazaren should not be used on children younger than 2. Only use on small children after consulting your doctor.

  • How long does the effect of Nazaren last?

    Xylometazolin, which is the active ingredient in Nazaren nasal spray, is effective for up to 8 hours. The effect begins a few minutes after spraying.

  • Must Nazaren be used upside down?

    Nazaren sprays equally well in all directions, including upside down. Sometimes it may be practical to be able to use a nasal spray while lying down, but the most usual is to use it while sitting. The bottle's construction means that it also works when held upside down.

  • If I have been using Nazaren, how long must I wait before using it again?

    Nasal spray should not be used for more than 10 consecutive days for adults, 5 for children.  After that, you should wait a week before using it again. If needed, you can spray with Nazamér sea salt solution during this period.
