Product variants and dosage

Vitamin C is important for the body's defences and for good health. Weifa-C effervescent tablets have a fresh orange flavour and make getting enough vitamin C easy.

Good for

Vitamin C is an effective anti-oxidant and strengthens the body's defences. Vitamin C also helps in the growth of teeth, connective tissue and bones. Wounds cannot heal without vitamin C - and it gives the skin better elasticity. Vitamin C also makes it easier for the body to absorb iron from food, especially from grains and other vegetables.

Vitamin C is one of our most important anti-oxidants. Anti-oxidants neutralise the free radicals that could otherwise damage the cells.

Weifa-C orange flavour effervescent tablets contain vitamin C in the form of ascorbic acid.

Weifa-C is also available as a natural extract from sun-ripened rose hips. Read more here about Weifa-C Rose Hip Extract.

Weifa-C 1000mg effervescent tablets are non-prescription medicines and can be bought from supermarkets.

Side effects and safety precautions

Like all medicines, Weifa-C can cause some side effects, but not everyone experiences them. Large doses (4-12g) could cause diarrhoea and the formation of stones in the urinary tract.  Each tablet contains 270mg of sodium, an amount that could be significant if you are on a low-salt diet.

Do not take Weifa vitamin C if you are allergic to ascorbic acid or any of the other ingredients in Weifa-C. (See the insert in the pack)

Weifa vitamin C can be taken during pregnancy and when breast feeding.
